June was a very busy month full of summery things. Scarlett went to her first small town parade where she high-fived trick performing burly bikers, waved at princesses and collected candy being hurled at her. It was the same small town parade I had attended in my youth and I was surprised at how much fun we all had.
In the middle of the month we went to Portland. My littlest niece was having a ballet recital and our family took up almost a whole row. She was graceful, beautiful in her nervousness and brave. I was overwhelmingly proud (I may have cried at the dress rehearsal). That weekend we also went strawberry picking and celebrated Father's Day. Our time with them always feels to short.
S took her first ballet classes in June. It was just a 2 day summer workshop to test out the school and the teacher. She had a lot of fun and starts going weekly tomorrow. I think it will be a fun for her and the fact that she looks ADORABLE in her long sleeve light blue leo doesn't hurt.
In June I started using My Fitness Pal. I dropped soda cold turkey, started drinking more water and exercising. I've lost 23 pounds the last 12 weeks. A week after I started, Bret started using the app as well. Our eating habits have completely changed. I have more energy and no caffeine crashes. It's pretty awesome!
